Before the construction of our house could commence, one final task remained on the agenda: clearing a 70-square-meter thicket on the upper half of our property. Dense undergrowth, a lifeless tree, and a small but tenacious tree had taken root, necessitating their removal to make way for our new home.
In December, we initially attempted the clearance ourselves. However, it quickly became evident that this was a venture beyond our capabilities. The thicket was simply too dense, the trees too towering, the tools inadequate, and time too scarce.
Consequently, we opted to seek professional assistance. Via the platform MyHammer.de, we gathered quotes from various landscaping companies in the region. The price range was considerable, ranging from €2,000 to €4,200. After careful comparison, we chose Grünfee, impressed by their fair offer and overall positive impression.
Before the bird breeding season began in February, prohibiting the felling of trees and clearing of hedges, the professionals sprang into action. Employing heavy equipment, they swiftly tackled the task, liberating our property from trees and hedges in no time. The remaining roots were expertly excavated, leaving behind a clean and level building site.
Thanks to somewhat lower disposal costs, the price per square meter for the site clearance ultimately amounted to approximately €28.00.
