Progress on the Ground Floor
We climb up to the ground floor via a wobbly chicken ladder and enter our house for the first time through what will be the main entrance. The interior walls made of sand-lime brick are also in place. We walk through the kitchen, living room, and bedroom.
During our last visit, only the basement was standing, and even its ceiling wasn’t complete. Now, it not only supports the walls of the ground floor, but the protruding ceiling slab also forms the base of the loggia. From the concrete balustrade, we can already enjoy the view of nature and, for a brief moment, pretend the house behind us is finished.
Garage Shell – The Most Striking Change
The garage is no longer just a drawing on the blueprint. On the contrary: its shell is almost complete. The foundation and walls have been cast in reinforced concrete, and the precast ceiling is already in place. The construction supports are still standing, but we can already tell: the garage is significantly larger than we expected.
Next Steps: Stairs and Ceiling
Next week, the staircase in exposed concrete will be delivered. Once it’s installed in the house, the upper floor ceiling can go on top. The precast ceiling elements are already on their way. Once they’re in place, the structural work will be nearly finished and the next milestone within reach.
